This coming SATURDAY – the 27th August – sees a take over at THE TUBE from House & Techno label HYPERCOLOUR, with headline sets from ENDIAN, SHENODA and label bossman, CEDRIC MAISON.

ENDIAN is an incredibly mysterious name on the scene right now, and we’re intrigued to see what is on offer. With a brilliant review on Resident Advisor for Endian’s “Two Chords Deep” EP – read it HERE – his set promises to be full of mesmerizing Deep House, Bass and Techno.
Listen below to the title track, a hypnotic 6 minutes of gorgeous bass and softly textured, all-encompassing rhythms. We’ve put up the flip side too, a track entitled “Doze”, for more aural amazement and pleasure – Endian is definitely one to watch!

Two Chords Deep:

Next up is SHENODA. Signed to Hypercolour, with forthcoming material set to be released on the label as well as on others such as Fresh Meat and Sonida, the future is set to be big for this guy. His productions have a compelling groove, a sense of driving forward, that propels them onwards and keeps you interested. With carefully placed vocal samples and fragments of punchy melodies, with 2-Steppy scatty rhythms, he experiments with the Electronic sound, having a refreshingly free approach to making music. Listen below to “Favourite”, a stand-out track from the “Shots” EP – out now on Hypercolour:

Supporting will be CEDRIC MAISON, co-owner of Hypercolour and fast becoming a regular at The Tube – we love him, and we know you dance freaks do too! Expect sick blends of House and Techno with loads of flair.
For more information on Hypercolour, their artists and all releases and upcoming dates, check out their website HERE.

As usual on a Saturday, FREE ENTRY and 2-4-1 COCKTAILS run up until midnight – £5 entry and a buy one, get the one you paid for policy from then on…

DOLLOP holds its Brighton launch party at THE TUBE on SATURDAY 23RD JULY!

Originally born in Nottingham 7 years ago, DOLLOP is a club night that revolves around forward thinking, electronic music. It grew in size and moved to London around 4 years ago, and events now run regularly in both cities, making dollop one of the most exciting UK club nights of 2011.

Never tied to one specific genre, bookings can involve a combination of DJ’s, bands and live acts. To mark dollop’s 7th birthday they are launching a series of events across the UK – this will be dollop’s first event in Brighton, with lots more to come! Keep your eyes peeled… Check out a video from a Nottingham night, featuring Jamie XX, Jackmaster, Joy Orbison, Benji B and Julio Bashmore:

Headlining dollop’s entrance at The Tube will be London-based BRAIDEN. Constantly mutating and branching out, this young man is at the very pinnacle of Bass music coming out of London at the moment. As one of its most able DJs, he employs an amalgam of sophisticated techniques and a selective imagination which takes in everything from sumptuous House to the most developed Dubstep, stopping by Future Garage, UK Funky, Juke and unpredictable Techno on the way. Check out the intensely swervy and epic “The Alps”, below, released last year, to get a flava of his own production style:

Supporting Braiden will be the resident dollop DJ’s, and more TBA – watch this space – and check the Facebook Event Page HERE for updates!

As always on a Saturday, it’s FREE ENTRY before 12 / £5 thereafter.

JULIO BASHMORE returns to Brighton on SATURDAY 9th JULY, gracing THE TUBE with a headline set not to be missed.

After his superb performance for WELL ROUNDED RECORDS at The Green Door Store earlier this year, we are incredibly excited to welcome him back for a second time. Bristol born JULIO BASHMORE has been tearing it up all over the world with his productions, having had releases on DirtyBird, Ten Thousand Yen, PMR, Soul Motive, Futureboogie Recordings, and Night Slugs to name but a few. These forward thinking labels are fittingly representative of Julio’s own future-facing stance on Electronic music.

Check out a brilliant mix he did for Curb Crawlers way back in 2009 here – CCMixtape004.mp3 – slick mixing and awesome choices, Bashmore can certainly DJ to the highest level…

Hugely influenced by House, as well as the Bass music scene which he grew up with in Bristol, Julio takes elements of each genre and frees them from the norm – the skewed angle at which Julio approaches House music is instantly fresh and engaging. It’s difficult to say what it is exactly that has created so much fever around the name Julio Bashmore – but bounce to the blissed-out Garage of ‘Footsteppin’, lose your mind to his Mosca remix, or turn out the lights for ‘Batak Groove‘ and you’ll realise, simply, that it’s just something you feel.

Recent single ‘Battle For Middle You’ (above) was also particularly successful.

Ample support on the night comes from Well Rounded veteran DONGA, and it’s FREE ENTRY before 12 // £5 thereafter. It’s worth getting down early as 2-4-1 Cocktails will also be flowing freely before midnight!

SATURDAY 23RD APRIL @ THE TUBE will see a night of UK Garage from WOOKIE.

We must first say that there have been some upheavals surrounding this event – with great regret we had to announce that our previously booked headliner, TODD EDWARDS, can no longer perform due a serious health issue. All of his forthcoming European dates have had to be cancelled, and he will spend the next few months recuperating – you can keep up to date with him on his Facebook Fan Page. We wish Todd all the best and fully intend on bringing him back to Brighton in the near future.

HOWEVER, all is not lost – we were very excited to bring a UK Garage legend to Brighton, and that is exactly what we are still going to do. We are pleased to say that WOOKIE will be stepping in to keep the night going!

One of the most legendary Garage and House Producers this country has produced, Wookie joins the dots between the two genres with undeniable finesse and lightness of touch. During the 90’s he began to integrate his sound into the scene with his legendary bootleg remixes, steadily picking up plays all over the country and paving the way for things to come. By the turn of the century, Wookie was regarded as one of the key players on the emerging Garage scene, receiving endless praise for his original UK sound and achieving international success when his debut album, the self-titled ‘Wookie’, received critical acclaim worldwide.

The gospel-tinged, jump-up R&B styles of ‘Battle’ – aguably Wookie’s most well known track – remains one of the finest Garage tunes of our time. Check it out below:

Supporting Wookie will be LIL KRIS and PASTE, and to further compensate for any disappointment regarding Todd Edwards we are offering FREE ENTRY BEFORE 12AM.

WELL ROUNDED RECORDS present another label showcase at THE TUBE on SATURDAY 16TH APRIL.

Headlining the night will be DEADBOY. Signed to Well Rounded Records and based in London, this DJ/Producer holds a strong and highly respected place in the swiftly moving world of UK bass music. He saw huge success with the big release of his single ‘If U Want Me’ on the Numbers label – listen below to this absolute piece of genius…

Tapping into London’s rich musical history, from early 90’s Hardcore all the way through to present day UK Garage and House, Deadboy’s tracks also take influence from scenes across the pond, sharing a similar sense of melancholy that we saw in the first waves of Detroit Techno.

His music has been described as “heartache for the dancefloor”, and with his penchant for swinging garage beats and ethereal, pitch-shifting vocal samples, it’s not hard to see why. Read a nice little review and listen to/download a wicked mix he did for XLR8R by clicking HERE.

Joining Deadboy on the Well Rounded 006 bill will be LITTLEFOOT, also signed to the label and steadily making his sound heard across the UK. Usually based in Nottingham, he is bringing his mix of House, Garage and Techno down South for all us lucky people at The Tube.
DONGA, TEMPLE and BEN WHITE will be providing powerful support; so get yourselves down here for a well rounded night of madness!
Entry is £5 all night, doors open at 11pm and the party will go on late…
