This coming SATURDAY – the 27th August – sees a take over at THE TUBE from House & Techno label HYPERCOLOUR, with headline sets from ENDIAN, SHENODA and label bossman, CEDRIC MAISON.

ENDIAN is an incredibly mysterious name on the scene right now, and we’re intrigued to see what is on offer. With a brilliant review on Resident Advisor for Endian’s “Two Chords Deep” EP – read it HERE – his set promises to be full of mesmerizing Deep House, Bass and Techno.
Listen below to the title track, a hypnotic 6 minutes of gorgeous bass and softly textured, all-encompassing rhythms. We’ve put up the flip side too, a track entitled “Doze”, for more aural amazement and pleasure – Endian is definitely one to watch!

Two Chords Deep:

Next up is SHENODA. Signed to Hypercolour, with forthcoming material set to be released on the label as well as on others such as Fresh Meat and Sonida, the future is set to be big for this guy. His productions have a compelling groove, a sense of driving forward, that propels them onwards and keeps you interested. With carefully placed vocal samples and fragments of punchy melodies, with 2-Steppy scatty rhythms, he experiments with the Electronic sound, having a refreshingly free approach to making music. Listen below to “Favourite”, a stand-out track from the “Shots” EP – out now on Hypercolour:

Supporting will be CEDRIC MAISON, co-owner of Hypercolour and fast becoming a regular at The Tube – we love him, and we know you dance freaks do too! Expect sick blends of House and Techno with loads of flair.
For more information on Hypercolour, their artists and all releases and upcoming dates, check out their website HERE.

As usual on a Saturday, FREE ENTRY and 2-4-1 COCKTAILS run up until midnight – £5 entry and a buy one, get the one you paid for policy from then on…

This is definitely one for the diary… SATURDAY 20TH AUGUST see’s a pretty big night hitting Brighton seafront, with a huge lineup set to rinse THE TUBE and shake us all into a club-fueled madness. Headlining is the London-based NIGHT SLUGS strongman and globally respected DJ/Producer, GIRL UNIT, with fellow Night Slug GREENA, Well Rounded’s DONGA and Jailbait’s NICOLE DE LEIBURNE on the support.

If you managed to miss GIRL UNIT‘s release “Wut” last year, you must have been doing something especially wrong. Such was it’s wide roaming appeal, it could be heard on systems all around the world, even prompting Minimal House legend, Claude Von Stroke, to remix it.
Add that to last year’s similarly world comquering single “IRL” and you have a pretty impressive back catalogue for someone still in their early twenties. Pure spaced out crunk:

He’s also done some flawless mixes for Resident Advisor, Fact Magazine and the like – check out his mix for Numbers, below – chock full of massive tunes and wicked blending…

Fellow member of the Night Slugs crew, 23 year old GREENA, will be making an appearance too. Relatively new on the scene but already causing a stir, Greena certainly knows how to create an atmosphere with his DJing. Check out his mix for XLR8R to see what we mean – unfortunately we can’t stream it, but click HERE to be redirected to their website. This is what they had to say on the matter:
“You can go ahead an add Greena to the list of artists to obsess over. On this exclusive mix, the 23-year-old Londoner and Night Slugs cohort whips together the usual assortment of dubplates and unreleased tunes from scene heavyweights like Untold, Brackles, Bok Bok, and Roska, but he also stretches his musical boundaries further than many of his contemporaries will dare, slotting in vintage techno, ghettotech, upfront house, and even some grime-flavored R&B. It may sound a bit schizophrenic, but Greena weaves his way between genres with ease, resulting in one particularly potent XLR8R podcast.

It’s gonna be a night to remember, full of exciting, heavy, future-fresh and inspiring selections.
Be sure to get down early for FREE ENTRY and 2-4-1 on the cocktails before midnight.

We can’t wait for SATURDAY 30TH JULY. It’s BEN UFO‘s time to shine at THE TUBE.

Co-founder of the London-based HESSLE AUDIO, alongside Ramadanman and Pangea in 2007, Ben is one of the select few DJ’s in the UK who have managed to make a name for themselves based solely on their skills as a DJ, without entering the world of production. It follows then, that he’s good. Very good!
In terms of selection, he’s one of the finest out there, seamlessly and brilliantly mixing a variety of sounds from times past and present: his sets usually comprise of the freshest Funky, Garage and 2-Step, combined with a choice assortment of classic Dubstep, House and Techno. He’s been blowing minds on the club scene for a while now; his recognition has been much fought for, and is much deserved.

And there’s something else: we’re honored (and incredibly excited – and even just a little bit smug) to say that Ben will be playing a very special, marathon 4 hour set at The Tube, giving us a wicked opportunity to make the most of his impeccable skills and see a first-class DJ in his element – that is, shredding the club to pieces and getting you bubblin’ on the floor…

Check out this pretty freakin’ brilliant mix he did for Boiler Room, below. He goes straight in with a smooth as butter intro that drops into an energized, booty-based, body-popping musical journey. Yeah! Just prepare yourselves to see this chief DJ at the top of his game – definitely not to be missed!

Joining Ben will be CEDRIC MAISON, co-founder of the HYPERCOLOUR imprint – check out their website HERE – who will get the night rolling in full force with his fiercely refined taste in underground Techno and House. As stated on the WE LOVE SPACE website: “Maison’s Djing style is as forward thinking as it is timeless, a fact which has seen him snapped up as a resident at Steve Lawler’s VIVa parties, as well as receiving praise from just about every “big name” DJ he plays with.”

As always on a Saturday, we’ll be offering FREE ENTRY and 2-4-1 COCKTAILS before midnight! It’s probably worth getting down early for this one…

Scootch over to the Facebook Event Page HERE for more info – and tune into the Hessle Audio radio show on RINSE FM, from 11pm – 1am, on the first and third Thursdays of each month.

JULIO BASHMORE returns to Brighton on SATURDAY 9th JULY, gracing THE TUBE with a headline set not to be missed.

After his superb performance for WELL ROUNDED RECORDS at The Green Door Store earlier this year, we are incredibly excited to welcome him back for a second time. Bristol born JULIO BASHMORE has been tearing it up all over the world with his productions, having had releases on DirtyBird, Ten Thousand Yen, PMR, Soul Motive, Futureboogie Recordings, and Night Slugs to name but a few. These forward thinking labels are fittingly representative of Julio’s own future-facing stance on Electronic music.

Check out a brilliant mix he did for Curb Crawlers way back in 2009 here – CCMixtape004.mp3 – slick mixing and awesome choices, Bashmore can certainly DJ to the highest level…

Hugely influenced by House, as well as the Bass music scene which he grew up with in Bristol, Julio takes elements of each genre and frees them from the norm – the skewed angle at which Julio approaches House music is instantly fresh and engaging. It’s difficult to say what it is exactly that has created so much fever around the name Julio Bashmore – but bounce to the blissed-out Garage of ‘Footsteppin’, lose your mind to his Mosca remix, or turn out the lights for ‘Batak Groove‘ and you’ll realise, simply, that it’s just something you feel.

Recent single ‘Battle For Middle You’ (above) was also particularly successful.

Ample support on the night comes from Well Rounded veteran DONGA, and it’s FREE ENTRY before 12 // £5 thereafter. It’s worth getting down early as 2-4-1 Cocktails will also be flowing freely before midnight!

SATURDAY 6TH MAY will bring with it KASSEM MOSSE at The Tube, with support from FURESHU and CEDRIC MAISON.

KASSEM MOSSE can only be described as a German Techno Legend. He has been behind some of the most curious and invigorating House and Techno records of the past four years, and has upcoming releases on Joy Orbisons’ Doldrums label and Instra:mental’s Nonplus Records.

His productions and DJ sets are full of deep and sweeping vibes, with global influences from Detroit Techno all the way to the more rugged sound of European Techno, particularly that emerging from Berlin. Mosse describes himself as “down with dust, hum, surface noise and static…” – expect a creative, absorbing and bass-powerful headline set.

Supporting Mosse will be FURESHU. Though he originally hails from Brighton, Fureshu – a.k.a Luke Standing – spent his formative musical years in the Dub(step) haven of Bristol, and it’s safe to say that the city’s endlessly flowing creativity left quite a mark on the guy. He developed diverse tastes and an expert ear for functional but experimental dance music, with a passion not only for playing and listening to music, but also for producing. His beginnings as a producer saw him creating dark and meditative bass music, but that quickly mutated into a blackened strain of banging Techno. He, like Mosse, was influenced by the sound of Berlin Techno, as well as the warehouse parties of English Techno past and the bass-heavy centre of gravity that firmly pins its origins in Bristol.

With his recent and forthcoming releases, Furesshu finds himself in the company of Techno’s best and brightest – right where his uniquely staggered and lurching brand of Techno belongs, blurring and obscuring the lines of geography and scene.

Rounding the line-up to a close, we have Hypercolour’s CEDRIC MAISON playing a sure-to-be-heavy DJ set.

Free entry before 12 // £5 thereafter // or £4 on Facebook Guestlist

Plus a huge range of delicious, expertly made Cocktails, 2-4-1 from 11pm – midnight!

Check out the Facebook Event HERE – Names on the Wall for Guestlist!

SATURDAY 23RD APRIL @ THE TUBE will see a night of UK Garage from WOOKIE.

We must first say that there have been some upheavals surrounding this event – with great regret we had to announce that our previously booked headliner, TODD EDWARDS, can no longer perform due a serious health issue. All of his forthcoming European dates have had to be cancelled, and he will spend the next few months recuperating – you can keep up to date with him on his Facebook Fan Page. We wish Todd all the best and fully intend on bringing him back to Brighton in the near future.

HOWEVER, all is not lost – we were very excited to bring a UK Garage legend to Brighton, and that is exactly what we are still going to do. We are pleased to say that WOOKIE will be stepping in to keep the night going!

One of the most legendary Garage and House Producers this country has produced, Wookie joins the dots between the two genres with undeniable finesse and lightness of touch. During the 90’s he began to integrate his sound into the scene with his legendary bootleg remixes, steadily picking up plays all over the country and paving the way for things to come. By the turn of the century, Wookie was regarded as one of the key players on the emerging Garage scene, receiving endless praise for his original UK sound and achieving international success when his debut album, the self-titled ‘Wookie’, received critical acclaim worldwide.

The gospel-tinged, jump-up R&B styles of ‘Battle’ – aguably Wookie’s most well known track – remains one of the finest Garage tunes of our time. Check it out below:

Supporting Wookie will be LIL KRIS and PASTE, and to further compensate for any disappointment regarding Todd Edwards we are offering FREE ENTRY BEFORE 12AM.
