We can’t wait for SATURDAY 30TH JULY. It’s BEN UFO‘s time to shine at THE TUBE.

Co-founder of the London-based HESSLE AUDIO, alongside Ramadanman and Pangea in 2007, Ben is one of the select few DJ’s in the UK who have managed to make a name for themselves based solely on their skills as a DJ, without entering the world of production. It follows then, that he’s good. Very good!
In terms of selection, he’s one of the finest out there, seamlessly and brilliantly mixing a variety of sounds from times past and present: his sets usually comprise of the freshest Funky, Garage and 2-Step, combined with a choice assortment of classic Dubstep, House and Techno. He’s been blowing minds on the club scene for a while now; his recognition has been much fought for, and is much deserved.

And there’s something else: we’re honored (and incredibly excited – and even just a little bit smug) to say that Ben will be playing a very special, marathon 4 hour set at The Tube, giving us a wicked opportunity to make the most of his impeccable skills and see a first-class DJ in his element – that is, shredding the club to pieces and getting you bubblin’ on the floor…

Check out this pretty freakin’ brilliant mix he did for Boiler Room, below. He goes straight in with a smooth as butter intro that drops into an energized, booty-based, body-popping musical journey. Yeah! Just prepare yourselves to see this chief DJ at the top of his game – definitely not to be missed!

Joining Ben will be CEDRIC MAISON, co-founder of the HYPERCOLOUR imprint – check out their website HERE – who will get the night rolling in full force with his fiercely refined taste in underground Techno and House. As stated on the WE LOVE SPACE website: “Maison’s Djing style is as forward thinking as it is timeless, a fact which has seen him snapped up as a resident at Steve Lawler’s VIVa parties, as well as receiving praise from just about every “big name” DJ he plays with.”

As always on a Saturday, we’ll be offering FREE ENTRY and 2-4-1 COCKTAILS before midnight! It’s probably worth getting down early for this one…

Scootch over to the Facebook Event Page HERE for more info – and tune into the Hessle Audio radio show on RINSE FM, from 11pm – 1am, on the first and third Thursdays of each month.

SATURDAY 16TH JULY sees another WELL ROUNDED extravaganza hitting up The Tube, bringing a hype night of energy and luminosity, with past and present vibes of House, UK Funky and Garage. Headlining will be SUBMERSE, KINGTHING and RESKETCH with big support from DONGA and BLAKE.

With releases left, right and centre, SUBMERSE is quickly becoming a well recognized name; his tracks combine blissed out harmonies and 2-Steppy Garage rhythms, held together with beautifully sampled, repetitious vocals. They’ve got massive atmosphere and you can tell they wouldn’t sound out of place in a rave or arena-sized venue… Check out “Change In You”, below – recently released on Well Rounded – and head over to his Soundcloud HERE for loads more tracks.

Leeds-based KINGTHING knows how to bring the Funk. His productions have got dancefloor grooves and scatty, energetic tempos a-plenty, all with his own noticeable twist. A sneaky peak is up now on YouTube – listen below for some exclusive clips:

DOLLOP holds its Brighton launch party at THE TUBE on SATURDAY 23RD JULY!

Originally born in Nottingham 7 years ago, DOLLOP is a club night that revolves around forward thinking, electronic music. It grew in size and moved to London around 4 years ago, and events now run regularly in both cities, making dollop one of the most exciting UK club nights of 2011.

Never tied to one specific genre, bookings can involve a combination of DJ’s, bands and live acts. To mark dollop’s 7th birthday they are launching a series of events across the UK – this will be dollop’s first event in Brighton, with lots more to come! Keep your eyes peeled… Check out a video from a Nottingham night, featuring Jamie XX, Jackmaster, Joy Orbison, Benji B and Julio Bashmore:

Headlining dollop’s entrance at The Tube will be London-based BRAIDEN. Constantly mutating and branching out, this young man is at the very pinnacle of Bass music coming out of London at the moment. As one of its most able DJs, he employs an amalgam of sophisticated techniques and a selective imagination which takes in everything from sumptuous House to the most developed Dubstep, stopping by Future Garage, UK Funky, Juke and unpredictable Techno on the way. Check out the intensely swervy and epic “The Alps”, below, released last year, to get a flava of his own production style:

Supporting Braiden will be the resident dollop DJ’s, and more TBA – watch this space – and check the Facebook Event Page HERE for updates!

As always on a Saturday, it’s FREE ENTRY before 12 / £5 thereafter.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Orca Recordings x Local Action will no longer be taking place at The Tube on SATURDAY 2nd JULY – however, do not fear, as HACENADA have stepped in and will certainly deliver!

Previously booked headliner XXXY will still be playing, rolling through with blissed out bass that’ll melt your mind, not your face…

The Manchester-based producer XXXY, known to his mum as Rupert, is known for refining the propulsive, foot-forward sound of UK garage. Over the past year he has built a solid reputation with milestone releases on Infrasonics and Fortified Audio, as well as featuring on the seminal Fabric compilation “Elevator Music”. The cheeky little number below is forthcoming on our favourite label: Well Rounded Records.

Support will come from three of the finest, forward thinking, future-funksters in the game – who just happen to be from Brighton: DOM, LORCA, BROWN NOISE and EL TOPPO.

One of the original pioneers of the Brighton scene, DOM has torn it apart at many of the legendary Dubpressure raves – you”ll recognize him for his flawless mixing and massive selection. Joining him, LORCA – the little man with a mighty mind for music! – is gonna keep things rumbling.

As always on our Saturday nights, ENTRY IS FREE before midnight and £5/4 thereafter.

It’s worth getting down early to make the most of our 2-4-1 cocktails, which will be pouring out of the bar until midnight too.

JULIO BASHMORE returns to Brighton on SATURDAY 9th JULY, gracing THE TUBE with a headline set not to be missed.

After his superb performance for WELL ROUNDED RECORDS at The Green Door Store earlier this year, we are incredibly excited to welcome him back for a second time. Bristol born JULIO BASHMORE has been tearing it up all over the world with his productions, having had releases on DirtyBird, Ten Thousand Yen, PMR, Soul Motive, Futureboogie Recordings, and Night Slugs to name but a few. These forward thinking labels are fittingly representative of Julio’s own future-facing stance on Electronic music.

Check out a brilliant mix he did for Curb Crawlers way back in 2009 here – CCMixtape004.mp3 – slick mixing and awesome choices, Bashmore can certainly DJ to the highest level…

Hugely influenced by House, as well as the Bass music scene which he grew up with in Bristol, Julio takes elements of each genre and frees them from the norm – the skewed angle at which Julio approaches House music is instantly fresh and engaging. It’s difficult to say what it is exactly that has created so much fever around the name Julio Bashmore – but bounce to the blissed-out Garage of ‘Footsteppin’, lose your mind to his Mosca remix, or turn out the lights for ‘Batak Groove‘ and you’ll realise, simply, that it’s just something you feel.

Recent single ‘Battle For Middle You’ (above) was also particularly successful.

Ample support on the night comes from Well Rounded veteran DONGA, and it’s FREE ENTRY before 12 // £5 thereafter. It’s worth getting down early as 2-4-1 Cocktails will also be flowing freely before midnight!

Check out the Facebook Event Page HERE for more info.

WELL ROUNDED RECORDS are back at THE TUBE for 008, on SATURDAY 18TH JUNE – and they’re still bringing it to the seafront with unabashed steeze… This time around, they present for your aural gratification and physical inspiration: HACKMAN, WEST NORWOOD CASSETTE LIBRARY, PASTE and DONGA.

HACKMAN played at Well Rounded’s 2nd party, and left us all incredibly impressed with his beautifully judged set that built and built, never compromising on quality. As a producer he is innovative and adventurous, creating grooves and melodies that are fresh, exciting and pretty darn badass. After releasing his ‘Bodies’ EP on Well Rounded, he went on to put out the brilliant ‘More Than Ever’ and ‘Make Up Your Mind’ 12″s for Ramp’s sub-label PTN… A very interesting Producer and DJ and certainly one to watch – we’ll be seeing a lot more of him in the future. Check out the gorgeously rich chiming harmonies and 2-Step vibe of his track ‘Blacksnake’, below.

Playing alonside Hackman will be WEST NORWOOD CASSETTE LIBRARY (WNCL), the name of both a label (WNCL Recordings) and a Production outfit. Playing vinyl-only DJ sets and going to the not inconsiderable expense – and effort – of cutting real dubplates, WNCL take pride in staying committed to the slowly receding vinyl-culture of yesteryear. His label is pushing musical boundaries all over the place, and his own musical flava is spiced just right. Hear ‘Blonde On Blonde’ for a hypnotic 5 minutes that ebbs and flows with just the right amount of swagger…

Support comes from PASTE and DONGA, spinning out deadly rhythms and taking you from slow, luminous Disco & House, right up to RnB infused, bass-heavy party tunes.

SATURDAY 25th JUNE will see a huge night at The Tube, with headliner PHOTEK playing a very rare Brighton set.

A fixture on the UK Jungle scene since the early nineties, PHOTEK a.k.a. Rupert Parkes is best known for his role in developing the “intelligent” Drum & Bass genre. Over the course of his career as Photek, Parkes has developed a sound that is simultaneously individual, innovative and accessible, earning him much respect and popularity amongst critics and music fans alike.

Responsible for some of the greatest Drum & Bass releases ever, his new material is no different. Leaning slightly more towards House, it still has that polished Photek sound.

Support on the night comes from: INSIGHT, VOYTEK and ACTION JACKSON.

ENTRY IS FREE before 12 // £5 thereafter

2-4-1 Cocktails between 11-12pm
